Terms of Use
I don't like filing video takedowns, but I don't like others using my content without proper credit even more. Here are some guidlines on how you can use clips of my videos in your content without risk of me filing for a video takedown.
You may NOT
- use any audio from my videos without explicit permission
- use any screenshots/assets from my videos in your video thumbnail
- use any part of my video in any part of your video if any part of your video or video thumbnail makes use of generative AI for any reason (including but not limited to video/image generation, script generation e.g. ChatGPT, voiceover generation)
You MAY
use video footage from my videos if you do the following:
- Any time my video footage appears in your video, a disclaimer must be present and readable that says something along the lines of "video by Retro Game Mechanics Explained". You must either include the full channel name, and/or a copy of the channel's profile picture. (Shortening to "RGME" or "RGMechEx" is not enough.)
- Provide the full channel name "Retro Game Mechanics Explained" and a hyperlink to the channel in your video description.
If you follow these rules, I will likely allow your video to stand with no claims. This is not guaranteed however—if you do not ask for explicit permission, I reserve the right to file a claim regardless. A good example of why I might still file a takedown is if your video relies too heavily on my content (say, more than 50% of the video footage is from my videos).
Asking for explicit permission is greatly appreciated in any case! You must ask for explicit permission to use audio from my videos (my voice over). Check the Inquiries page for how to reach out.
Of course, fair use can still apply, so I cannot stop you from using any part of my video/audio for things like video criticism, "reaction" videos, or parody.
